THE PLACE BETWEEN

It wasn’t intentional — staying in Utah. It was meant to be a place between, a stop on the way to something better. Unbeknownst to me, this was the “something better” all along.

Caught between a desert and oasis, Utah is dichotomy and unity personified. The fruit salad that seems like it shouldn’t work but has a kaleidoscope of tastes so perfect you can’t imagine it any other way. The personable small-town shop paired with the convenience of a big-time city, all within a short distance.

Utah itself is between. I don’t understand it, but I love it all the same.

My first day in Utah, there was only one thought as I stepped out of the car and breathed in.

I was no longer between.
